Warudaros

5.0/5 rating (3 votes)

Description

Warudaros (1981)

Evil King Warudaros is one of the earliest insect transforming robots.  The toy was originally made in Japan in 1981 and featured diaclone enemy figures that could fit in each insect cockpit.

As with most diaclone toys, Warudaros features a ton of chrome and firing missiles.  The hands fire off too.

Warudaros splits into three robots: Sasoron with pilot Sasorander,  Mosquider with pilot Bagumos, and Arinder with pilot Arick.

It is worth noting that import Warudaros came to the U.S. under the Diakron line, but the small men were removed as well as the normal Japanese release missiles. Italy also had an import version of this toy with rubber sphere tipped missiles.

So if this is was a Diaclone product, I wonder why it looks nothing like the ones that got chosen to become Transformers. It's cool though!

It would Ben IF the insecticons still had their drivers. :/ Insecticons used the same drivers in these guys..... Otherwise, call it an evolutionary dead end.
