RJ Robot Summit Florida on February 18th, 2012

on Friday, October 28, 2011.

Come to Florida in February 18th, 2012!  When the northern denizens are freezing cold, break away and warm your bones and robot love in St. Petersburg, FL.  Make it a business (fun) trip!

FL-00745-CBathing-Beauties-by-Bus-St-Petersburg-Florida-Posters

We have plans for a full day of robot fun on Saturday, February 18th, 2012.  This is a Long weekend where President's day in the U.S. may give extra time for beaches, Disney, Gardens and even more fun.

Members TattooJack and Admin have plans to open up their homes to visitors.  Then there will be a lunch cook-out as well as evening par-tay plans.

More details to come, but be sure to reserve your vacation days as well as book a flight!  That or get your car road-worthy, as it has been a blast in the past.

There will also be some great robot trading.  Plans include at least 10 tables for a free swap-meet.  Score those toys you've been waiting for and pay Zero $ in shipping.

Here is a newer Hotel near by the summit, that members liked in the past:

Actually, the summit is on Saturday, not Friday. But MegaCon looks like it runs Friday through Sunday, so you can go before or after. http://www.megaconvention.com/

Awesome! I haven't seen Robby since the first one. He's a super nice guy and an extremely talented artist! Can't wait to catch up with him - he was missed at the last one.

Interesting to hear about our other attendee. Should I bring my old cels for opinions/maintenance suggestions?

Bring stuff for the trading/sales table for sure! Bryan should be able to help see what cels you have and give an opinion on it.

Looks like some freebies may be coming too. Details TBD.

Nice! Robby Musso is dropping by?
Tell him I said hi, though he has no clue who I'm.
Is he's still working under the IDW label? ;P Or is he freelancing?

Note that Valent Wang and Don Figueroa are on a special Mecha Workshop project right now. Readers can review a recent article on this last year. There is a strong chance that they will be able to send over a few printed freebies. This is all coming together, hopefully, just in time for the Summit.

The project will produce a comic and then TOYS. I find there to be strong influences of mid 80's mecha as well as piloted toys like Macross, Orguss, Dougram and the like. That said, the designs I've seen are UNIQUE and killer .

I have a favor to ask of anyone going. I'd like to take a picture of my Jetfire next to a classics Jetfire and a Bandai 1/60 VF-25F Messiah Alto. But I don't have the classics or the VF25F. If someone who's going has either of those could you bring it to the show? Thanks.
