Devil Satan 6 MRG

Gobot Monster robot by Bandai

Devil Satan Monsterous Gobot (46543 bytes)

Monsterous was produced for the United States in 1987 under the MRG designation. Weird. In Japan this toy was released as the "Devil Satan 6 " robot and definitely had a non-English friendly ring to it. 'Mom I want to buy the Devil, err, I mean Satan'.....

We have these characters that comprise the Devil Satan Gestalt or combination robot:
  • Fright Face (dark gray and gold head that is blue in the U.S. release)
  • Fangs (left foot & Gray in U.S. toy)
  • Gore Jaw (light blue in U.S. version and a black right leg here)
  • Heart Attack (black chest robot in this Japanese release and green in U.S.)
  • South Claw the pink bird (right arm and wing)
  • Weird Wing the red bird (left wing and arm)

The above picture is of Japanese box art and the nested toys.

Above are robot pictures and paperwork. Not only will you notice that the American Gobots have different paintwork, but you will see much more paint detail on the Japanese release. I believe this release was made in Japan and the later Tonka releases were supplied from Taiwan and other Asian manufacturing plants.
